Southern Crescent Chorale in concert Saturday at Flat Creek Baptist

The Southern Crescent Chorale under the direction of Janice Folsom is proud to present the ninth annual Benefit Concert on Saturday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at the Flat Creek Baptist Church.

The concert will benefit Camp Southern Ground and is sponsored by Coweta-Fayette Trust. The McIntosh High and East Coweta High choirs will join the SCC for an evening of outstanding choral music. Read More»

Twenty-five Fayette County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers took a one-day propagation class recently at the State Botanical Garden in Athens. Conservation Horticulturist Heather Alley (center) talked about collecting tips, breaking dormancy (changes in temperature, water and light), grow buckets, grow lights, growing media and the many published and online resources available. The master gardeners are sowing and propagating plants that will be sold at their annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fayette County Stonewall Government Complex. “Prepare Ye the Way” for Godspell Jr. at The Legacy Theatre! Composer Stephen Schwartz’s (Wicked, Pippin) first and most beloved musical is being presented on the Legacy Stage through this weekend with the four different casts bringing to life the Gospel of St. Matthew.

This is the fourth “Jr.” production that the Legacy has produced, having previously brought “Honk,” “Dear Edwina,” and “Thoroughly Modern Mille” to the stage, and the casts are comprised entirely of students in the theater’s Legacy Studios classes. Read More»
