‘Local-only’ farmers market expands in PTC, Newnan locations

A new type of farmers market opened last year in east Coweta County. This year, Our Community Farmers Market has expanded to locations in Peachtree City and Newnan.

Coweta OKs hotel plan

Another sign of the economic recovery came last week when the Coweta County Commission approved variances for a 62-room Microtel hotel with four floors at Amlajack Boulevard and Barith Road near Interstate 85.

The variances approved by unanimous vote included building setbacks, additional building height and stories. The odd shape and small size of the lot hinder the layout of the development, Coweta County Zoning Administrator Angela White said of the 1.485-acre lot on the southeast corner of Amlajack Boulevard and Barith Road and located adjacent to the RaceTrac Fueling Center. Pinewood Studios arrives in Fayette with hopes for 3,400 jobs

Fayette County may soon be crowned as the TV and movie-making capital of Georgia, now that London’s Pinewood Studios has officially announced that its “full service film and entertainment studio complex” is under construction in rural Fayette County, directly across from Rivers Elementary School on Sandy Creek Road.

Nissan dealership planned for Newnan

The Coweta County Commission on Tuesday had no objection to the annexation request by Newnan of a 4.9-acre tract at Bullsboro Drive near Interstate 85 that is expected to be the location of a Nissan dealership. Read More»

Medical office/retail development proposed for Poplar Road near I-85

A 113,300 square-foot medical office and retail development is being proposed on 15.13 acres on the northwest corner of Poplar Road and Newnan Crossing Bypass East near Interstate 85. Truett’s Luau restaurant gets its drive-thru, kiosk

The final approval needed for the new Truett’s Luau restaurant at the Waterfall commercial center at Grady Avenue and Ga. Highway 54 West came at the March 26 meeting of the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission.

The commission by unanimous vote approved the kiosk that will be positioned near the restaurant’s front door and the drive-thru configuration that will lead to the kiosk. The two-lane drive-thru will accommodate approximately 17 vehicles. Read More»

F’ville approves Waterfall rezoning

A rezoning request that enables the installation of a drive-thru kiosk for the proposed restaurant at Truett Cathy’s new Waterfall commercial development on Ga. Highway 54 and Grady Avenue received unanimous approval March 21 by the Fayetteville City Council.

Specific to the westernmost of the two buildings situated on the southeast corner of the intersection, the request would have that building rezoned from C-1 (Downtown Commercial) to C-3 (Highway Commercial) to accommodate the installation of a drive-thru kiosk at the restaurant site for which the finishing touches are being made. Senoia water tower to become restaurant, bar with a view

Ever since Scott Tigchelaar was a kid he wanted a water tower. That dream came true recently when his company purchased the old water tower in downtown Senoia that was put out for bid by the Senoia City Council last year as surplus property. As for the 110-foot water tower, look for it to be transformed in the future into a restaurant on ground level with a bar in the tower’s bowl that will provide a scenic view of the surrounding area. Waterfall welcomed as gateway to Fayetteville

The man who made an advertising icon out of cows urging everyone to “eat mor chikin” has now built a waterfall beside a major Fayette highway. And as of March 14, Fayette’s new Waterfall has officially started flowing.
