It’s no mystery that the television and film industry is booming in Senoia and Fayetteville. Raleigh-Riverwood Studios President Scott Tigchelaar shared his thoughts on the industry’s local impact at the annual South Metro Development Outlook Conference held Feb. 18 at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park.

New Fayette Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Carlotta Ungaro had her first day on the job on Feb. 9. In some ways, the new job in Fayette is a lot like coming home.

Anthem Insurance is the latest corporate victim of computer hackers who apparently stole the personal information of current and former customers, according to the Better Business Bureau.

The names, addresses, social security numbers, dates of birth and other information that can be used for identity theft may have been stolen from millions of people and the bureau is suggesting immediate action for customers who are concerned. Read More»

F’ville’s Pinewood Studios gets 5 new buildings

Construction on the most recent additions at Pinewood Atlanta Studios is underway. Crews are at work on five new buildings totaling 176,000 sq. ft.

Land disturbance permit plans obtained from the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Department show five buildings totaling 176,000 sq. ft. to be constructed to the south of the existing soundstages and other buildings on the 288-acre Veterans Parkway property.

One of the buildings will house two 20,000 sq. ft. soundstages (stages 7 and 8) and 20,000 sq. ft. of office space.
