On Saturday, July 29th, the I-58 Mission, at 2450 Highway 85 in Senoia, opened their doors to 100 local school aged children. These children came between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to get needed back to school supplies. Each child received a $50.00 Old Navy gift card to allow them to shop for clothes. Karhma Novak, Executive Director of I-58, said the mission was blessed with donations from churches and individuals; supplies included backpacks, pencils, crayons, erasers, scissors, glue, markers, folders, composition books and more.

Set up on the stage were toiletries, gym bags, and school snacks. Each child then received a new hoodie and pair of shoes (sizes selected in advance for each child). Many of the children took advantage of face painting that was being offered by several volunteers. There were many cute mermaids and cartoon characters created with face paint. TCBY Peachtree City helped celebrate this special occasion by providing frozen yogurt for the children. Yogurt and popsicles topped off the hot day, making it a truly great experience.

The vision of I-58 is to partner with the Christian community and local churches in mission to serve God’s people. I-58 offers clients from Coweta, Fayette, Spalding, and Meriwether counties a Christian environment where they can hear a weekly devotional with uplifting music, shop for food – making choices in their food selection, shopping once a season for clothes, and selecting needed baby items, household goods and more.

I-58 Mission is open and accepting donations Monday – Wednesday from 10:00am – 3:00pm. Thursday is the service day and is when the pantry is open for clients. The mission is closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
