Tyrone police are searching for a man who held up the CVS pharmacy on GA. Highway 74 just after the store opened Saturday morning. Neither of the store employees was harmed.
Tyrone Police Department spokesman Lt. Phillip Nelson said a man entered the pharmacy at the Southampton Village shopping center on Hwy. 74 with a handgun drawn at approximately 7:30 a.m. The man forced the store manager and the employee on duty into the office.
With an undisclosed amount of cash in hand, the man then forced the two employees into a restroom where he told them to stay, said Nelson. Neither of the store employees was harmed, Nelson said.
Nelson said the manner of the man’s exit is unknown.
The man was described as a black male, 5’ 7-8” in height and of a stocky build.
Nelson said the circumstances of the robbery are similar to those experienced in other CVS pharmacies in metro Atlanta.
