Registration is now open for the 2nd annual, “rally4thekidz,” an Oct. 23-26 motorcycle rally hosted by Providence United Methodist Church to raise funds for kidz2leaders, Inc.

Riders from the southside of Atlanta will leave from Providence at 9 a.m. on Oct. 23 to meet up with the rest of the group at Mt. Bethel UMC in Marietta. The group will ride from Marietta to their home base for the weekend, the Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge in Stecoah, N.C.

Throughout the weekend bikers will ride famous motorcycle routes, including Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway.

“This is a fun way to get out and ride while supporting kidz2leaders, which was created to stop the vicious cycle of incarceration,” explains Providence’s senior pastor, the Rev. Diane Parrish. “We started the organization to reach the children of prisoners in our state when they are young, to teach them to become leaders and to provide a life of hope through Christian programming and a fun environment. In 15 years we have reached 400 children with a positive message, mentoring and encouragement.”

The yearly premier event for kidz2leaders is Camp Hope, a six-day, free overnight camp giving vulnerable children who live in metro Atlanta a week filled with fun activities, leadership skills, fellowship and emotional support.

For more information about rally4thekidz and rally registration, go to www.kidz2leaders.org or email nancy.jakaitis@kidz2leaders.org or call 770-977-7751.

Corporate and individual sponsors are invited to participate through the registration website.

“Without our corporate and individual sponsors we could not help nearly as many children, so we are incredibly grateful for their support,” Parrish added.

Providence UMC is at 592 Bernhard Rd. in southern Fayette County between Redwine Road and Ga. Hwy. 85.
