Interfaith Thanksgiving Service is Nov. 16 at Nativity Episcopal

Representatives of the Jewish, Christian and Islamic faiths in Fayette County will participate Wednesday, Nov. 16, in an interfaith Thanksgiving service sponsored by Fayette Interfaith Network.

The service will begin at 7 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, 130 Antioch Road, just off Ga. Highwaye 92 south of downtown Fayetteville.

A special focus of the service will be the honoring of the late Susan Levine, who died Aug. 10. Levine, for many years, was cantorial soloist at Congregation B’nai Israel and was an active member of Fayette Interfaith Network.

In addition to Church of the Nativity and Congregation B’nai Israel, other congregations participating will be the Islamic Community Center of Fayetteville, the Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta, First United Methodist Church of Fayetteville, and Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Peachtree City. The service will be open to the general public.Fayette Interfaith Network was created to promote peace and understanding after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
