Local nonprofit Rachel’s Ray of Hope has opened its doors for qualifying children to shop free of charge for clothing and school supplies.

The organization has assisted the families who were referred through Fayette County school administrators but would like to spread the word that this program is still available in the community.

The Ray of Hope Store will supply qualified students with a school wardrobe (3 pants/shorts, 4 shirts, sweatshirt and jacket) new underwear and socks, and a new backpack filled with grade-appropriate school supplies.

Any child in pre-k through 12th grade attending school in the Fayette County School District who qualifies for free/reduced lunch at their school automatically qualifies to “shop” at the Ray of Hope Store. Other circumstances are determined by school personnel.

Shopping is done by appointment only. Those who qualify must receive and bring with them an application that is completed and signed by a school staff member.

Parents may request an application from their child’s school counselor. To schedule an appointment, call 678-956-2594.

The store is at 165 Bradford Square, Suite C, in Fayetteville.
