The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide after deputies conducting a welfare check found two people dead inside a home in the Old Ford Acres subdivision.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to a welfare check request on February 3. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two deceased individuals inside the residence.
The victims were identified as a 58-year-old woman and her 36-year-old son. Early investigative findings indicate the incident appears to have been a murder-suicide, officials said.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Authorities stated there are no other suspects and no threat to the public.
Out of respect for the families involved, the sheriff’s office said no additional details will be released at this time.
