Born in Elwood, Indiana, he was the eldest of three children and only son born to the late Felix Hiram Holt and Martha Elizabeth Stephenson Holt.  He was a graduate of Lafayette Jeff High School, Lafayette, IN, Class of 1964 after which time he attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.  Mr. Holt followed in his father’s footsteps and had a long career in the tire business with Goodyear tire and rubber company.  He moved to Georgia to accept his first position in Sales, while attending Georgia Tech to further his study of Business and Accounting.  His career with Goodyear moved him into the position of an Internal Auditor.  Throughout his career, his area of responsibility included Indiana, Georgia and Arizona; but primarily focused on the Metro Atlanta area. 

He retired in the late 1990s with thirty four years of service to Goodyear.  In 2001, he settled in Dublin.

Mr. Holt was an avid golfer and enjoyed his memberships at Flat Creek Country Club, Eastman Country Club and the Dublin Country Club.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia “Patty” Holt and a sister,     Bonita “Bonnie” Samuelson.

Mr. Holt leaves behind, his children, David Holt, Noblesville, IN, Meredith Anne Nichols (Kendall), Noblesville, IN, a sister, Pamela Sue Spence, Clearwater, FL, grandchildren, Tyler James Holt (Lexi Miller), Jacob Daniel Holt, Ryan Douglas Townsend and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, September 26, 2025 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Milton Thomas officiating.

His family received friends on Friday at Sammons Funeral Home from 10:00 o’clock a. m. until the hour of service.

Mr. Holt was laid to rest in Dublin Memorial Gardens, Dublin, Georgia.
