The City of Fayetteville’s first-ever Fayetteville 101 citizen education and engagement program will begin Monday, August 11, 2025, and continue for eight weekly sessions, offering City residents a deep dive into how their local government works. Registration for this free program is open through Wednesday, July 9.
“Many residents have told me they would participate in a local government education course, because they would like to know more about how it all works,” said Fayetteville City Manager Ray Gibson. “This Fayetteville 101 program is being developed by our staff in response to that interest. We hope the outcome will be a more engaged core of City residents, who are not only more aware of what happens in each of our government departments, but also who are more likely to participate in future citizen engagement opportunities.”
Each Monday session will run from 6-8 p.m., and each session will be led by different City department personnel. The Fayetteville 101 graduation for participants will take place on October 6.
