A Legacy of Community and Compassion Lives On
Peachtree Villas, a senior and disabled affordable apartment complex in Peachtree City, has been a cornerstone of the community since 1978, when it was developed by Lamar Seals. Lamar, who passed away in 2022, was passionate about creating quality affordable housing for seniors and individuals with disabilities and dedicated much of his career to building communities across the country. His family has proudly carried on his legacy, keeping Peachtree Villas a family-run operation to this day.
While Peachtree Villas has always been a place of comfort and care for its 60 residents, the holiday season brought even more warmth and joy, thanks to an incredible partnership with First Baptist Church. The church’s members, led by their children’s ministry, stepped in to make the holidays special by gifting each resident with personalized Christmas presents.
For many Peachtree Villas residents, the holidays can be a lonely time, but this act of kindness filled the community with cheer and gratitude. Seeing the joy on residents’ faces was a reminder of the powerful impact a thoughtful gesture can have.
A Growing Partnership
The connection between Peachtree Villas and First Baptist Church didn’t stop at Christmas. For Valentine’s Day, the church hosted a party for the residents, complete with sweet treats and time to celebrate together. It’s clear that this relationship is about more than one-time events—it’s about building lasting connections.
“These residents are incredible people who’ve given so much to our community,” shared a family member of Lamar Seals. “I remember helping plant shrubs when Peachtree Villas was first developed. First Baptist’s generosity is a beautiful reminder of how strong community connections can be. We’re grateful and look forward to continuing this partnership.”
Angel Webb-Dick, the property manager at Peachtree Villas, echoed that sentiment. “Working at Peachtree Villas has been more than a job,” she said. “It has been an opportunity to make connections and celebrate the wisdom our residents have to share.”
Reverend Manns, a resident at Peachtree Villas, also shared her appreciation for both the Seals family and First Baptist Church. “Living here has been a source of peace for me. I feel safe and protected. I’ve enjoyed my time living here, and I have made wonderful friends that I am so grateful to God for. The First Baptist Church of Peachtree City is one of those friends—their generosity to the residents is more than a blessing. The office staff, under the direction of Angel Webb-Dicks, is just awesome.”
What makes this relationship even more special is how First Baptist has gotten its children’s ministry involved, fostering a connection between generations and instilling in the next generation the importance of kindness, compassion, and service.
Peachtree Villas is more than an apartment complex—it’s a community built on care and connection. With the continued support of First Baptist Church and others in the Peachtree City community, it will remain that way for years to come.
