Sandy Creek High grad Payton Cammilarie has a passion for education, and she just got a boost to her dreams of becoming a teacher. Cammilarie is the recipient of the 2021 Fayette County Retired Educators Association scholarship for $1,500.

Each year, FCREA awards a scholarship to one graduating senior from a Fayette County Public School System high school planning on entering the field of education. FCREA presents scholarships on a rotating basis, with a Starr’s Mill High student slated to win in 2022.
