No one was home in the late evening hours of May 27 when a fire destroyed a house in south Fayette County.
Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services Deputy Chief Tom Bartlett said firefighters at 7:04 p.m. were sent to 151 Lakeview Drive off Ga. Highway 92 near Lake Horton in south Fayette County.
Bartlett said firefighters found the 6,000 sq. ft. home well-involved upon their arrival.
There no one was at home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries, Bartlett said.
The fire inspector was on the scene, Bartlett said, adding that the cause of the blaze has not been determined.
Bartlett said 53,000 gallons of water was used on the fire.
Fayette units responding to the fire included two engines. a ladder truck and three tankers. A tanker from Spalding County also responded.
