Ladies’ Bible study starts tomorrow
Beginning Thursday, Jan. 14 from 7 – 9 p.m. St. Paul Lutheran Church will offer the seven-week ladies’ Bible study “Gideon: Your Weaknesses, God’s Strength” by Priscilla Shirer. B’nai Israel to host MLK Day service
Congregation Bnai Israel will host an interfaith community service on Friday night, Jan. 15, at 7:30 p.m., to celebrate Martin Luther King Day.  Mayor elect Edward Johnson, the first African American Mayor of Fayetteville and  a pastor at a local church, will participate with his church in the service. Local gospel groups will perform. The synagogue is at 1633 Ga. Highway 54, Fayetteville.

COS will host Islamic speakers
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City invites all to hear Tariq Abdul-Haqq and Edward Mitchell on Sunday, Jan. 17, at 9:40 a.m. in the church’s sanctuary. Both represent the Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta and will explain the basics of Islam and how it feels to live as a Muslim American.  Questions? Call 770-487-8717.

Dance to music of the ‘50s, ‘60s
The Peachtree City Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA), located at 4957 Ga.Highway 34 E. in Sharpsburg, will host a fun and family-friendly ‘50s/’60s Night on Jan.  23 at 7 p.m.  All ages are invited. Come dressed in era-themed attire, enjoy delicious food, participate in a talent show, and dance to music from these fun decades. Brooks UMC plans pancake breakfast
Brooks United Methodist Church will sponsor a  free community pancake breakfast on Saturday, Jan. 23, from 9-11 a.m. The church is  at 119 Morgan Mill Rd., Brooks.

Maxwell to speak at Summit
Kristi Maxwell will speak  at The Summit Church, 1373 Ga. Highway 92 S., Fayetteville, on Jan. 24 at 6  p.m. Her topic is “Encouraging Children without becoming an Helicopter Parent.” Maxwell comes with a wealth of experience as a licensed family counselor. Hopewell to host Game Night
On Friday, Jan. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m., Methodist Women will sponsor a Game Night at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone. There will be all kinds of board games to play. This will be a fun, multi-generational gathering and will include refreshments. The community is invited to come out and enjoy this free, fun, Friday night event.
