The Heritage School in Newnan will host the Adidas Elite 75 Basketball Showcase Sunday, Sept. 13. This one-day exposure and skills camp is open to all athletes in grades 7-9 from surrounding counties in the metro Atlanta area.

Mark Lieberman, Heritage’s new athletic director and varsity boys basketball coach, will run the event.

“The first time I stepped on the Heritage campus I knew it was a special place,” said Lieberman. “From the high-quality faculty to the incredible facilities, Heritage exemplifies excellence which makes it the perfect setting for this basketball showcase.”

Lieberman has an impressive resume which includes serving as an assistant coach at the University of Louisville under Rick Pitino. He also coached for Pitino’s son, Richard, at Florida International University.

As a high school basketball coach, Lieberman compiled an impressive 335-95 record in 13 years, and his high school resume includes four state championships and three runner-ups. He was also named the Florida High School Coach of the Year three times.

“At the showcase, we want to give local players a feel of great competition while being coached on how to play the game the right way,” said Lieberman. “Not only will all the prospects learn the game, but they will have a blast as well.”

Registration for the showcase is now open. Entry fee is $60 per player. The showcase is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for grades 7-8 and 2:30-5 p.m. for ninth grade. Each player receives a game jersey, skillwork, strength training, two games, coaching from college players and coaches, and evaluations by scouting services.
