The Coweta Community Foundation has announced that its newly updated website, cowetafoundation.org, will launch July 31 and will include some great new features to help engage Coweta’s philanthropic community.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with our new website,” said Ginger Jackson Queener, the Foundation’s chairman of the board. “As Coweta County continues to grow, we’ve had the challenge of keeping up with all the activities of an increasing number of nonprofits in this community. With cowetafoundation.org up and running, everyone in the community will have a great new vehicle for staying up-to-date on the local nonprofit scene.”
The Coweta Community Foundation is a publicly supported 501(c)3 organization that helps focus local philanthropy on the community’s changing needs. The Foundation manages individual gifts and bequests as an endowed pool of assets, distributing grants to a wide variety of organizations that enhance and support the quality of life in Coweta County, while maintaining the charitable intent of the donors.
Those using the new website will learn how to make a gift to a local charity, and organizations can learn how to apply for a grant from the Foundation.
Those who wish to volunteer in Coweta County but don’t know where to start can find out which organizations currently need volunteers and what these jobs entail.
The site lists all of the Foundation’s Nonprofit Partners, and it also tells who in the community serves on the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
One of the best features of the new site, according to Queener, is its calendar of events.
“We want nonprofits to know that they can send us events and volunteer needs for the calendar,” she said, adding that the community can both volunteer with and support the nonprofit events in this way. “We also want to stress that this way, the nonprofits have an outlet to check to make sure that they are not competing against one another for events.”
