Southern Ground Amphitheater in Fayetteville bridges the old and new Saturday, July 25, with the legendary Blood, Sweat & Tears, featuring “American Idol” finalist Bo Bice.
Originally, this American jazz-rock band paved the way for the heavy, horn-driven sound of the late 60’s. Bice recently joined the band as lead singer and will perform all the classics with their original fervor.
Expect to hear “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy,” “And When I Die,” and the masterpiece, “Spinning Wheel.” The band will also introduce some new elements into every performance, including a segment devoted to “Songs We Wish We Had Recorded,” done in classic BS&T style.
During the early years of Fox’s hit show “American Idol,” original BS&T drummer/manager Bobby Colomby received many phone calls from friends telling him to check out singer Bo Bice, saying that his was a fresh voice and that he did a masterful job singing “Spinning Wheel.“ Many of Colomby’s musically knowledgeable buddies also suggested that he ask Bo to join the band.
“I’m pleased to say that that’s exactly what happened,” said Colomby.
Opening for Blood, Sweat & Tears is Fayetteville’s Francisco Vidal Band.
Good tickets still remain and range from $25 – $35. The next show is Saturday, Aug. 8, with Wynonna & the Big Noise.
Tickets to all shows are available at SouthernGroundAmp.com and at the Historic Courthouse in Downtown Fayetteville.
The Southern Ground Amphitheater is owned by the Downtown Development Authority and managed by the Main Street Tourism Association of Fayetteville.
