A College Park man was charged with kidnapping and simple battery in a Nov. 7 incident on Allenwood Road involving his girlfriend.

Corbin M. Livingston, 28, was charged with kidnapping and simple battery, according to jail records.

Sheriff Barry Babb said deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress at the north Fayette address, though once at the scene they determined that the incident was domestic in nature involving a girlfriend and an ex-boyfriend.

Babb said Livingston was upset over not sleeping in bed with the woman.

“The dispute turned physical and the male grabbed the female by the neck and began choking her and dragging her around the house by her neck,” Babb said.

Babb said the charge of kidnapping issued by the judge appeared to stem from the state statute on kidnapping which states that the charge can include “slight movement.”
