Award winning cabaret singer, Robert Ray returns to The Southside Theatre in Fairburn for his eighth consecutive concert, Nov. 21 and 22.
As usual Ray’s new show will be an upbeat musical variety show appealing to all ages with multiple songs form the 60 and 70s, and a special tribute to the music of Burt Bacharach, Whitney Houston and The Beatles.
A seven-piece band comprised of Atlanta’s top jazz musicians and four world class, back-up vocalists will join Ray on stage.
Ray is a Palmetto native who graduated from the University of Georgia and moved to New York, landing a role in the 1980 Broadway Production of “Oklahoma!.” That same year he was voted “Newcomer of the Year” for his Nightclub Show.
Ray’s concerts have been seen at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, Rabun County Music Festival and Macon’s Cherry Blossom Festival to name a few.
Nationally he has performed at The Kennedy Center, Wolftrap, Dallas Summer Musicals, The St. Louis Muny Opera, The Pantages in L.A. and The Palace Theater on Broadway.
Robert produced the “75th anniversary of the Fox Theatre” and has also directed and produced shows at The Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Theater in the Square and The Smokey Mountain Center of the Performing Arts in Franklin, NC.
Ray’s shows have a track record of completely selling out, so tickets should be ordered as soon as possible.
