Mr. Frady, Mr. Hearn, and Mr. Horgan,
I am a natural-born citizen of the United States of America, and a Republican. I have been a Republican voter all these long years. I also consider myself an independent thinker.
My realization through this journey of politics is the fact that the original intent of “We the People” may have been lost through the years. We need to get it back; regardless of claiming to be Republican, Democrat or Independent. It has become more of “I am the People,” no matter what the citizens want.
The intent of our Founding Fathers, while constructing the Constitution, was never to have long term politicians. They were wise enough to know that in our nature of simply being human beings can and will lead to dishonesty, corruption, and apathy.
“We the People” means having representation of the people. It’s as simple as that. People come in all sizes, shapes, some with disabilities, some may not be great speakers, or have endless amounts of money to run a campaign.
Most of our Founding Fathers were brilliant, but just a few were wealthy, their educational backgrounds were quite diverse; some were businessmen, merchants or shippers. Several in later years had to claim bankruptcy. This is true representation of “We the People,” don’t you think?
My point in this letter to you three is to ingrain in your mind, to never underestimate “We the People.” The citizens of Fayette County have spoken in this Primary Election.
Mr. Hearn, you are in a runoff with Mr. Ognio. With the lead Mr. Ognio had, who is in touch more with the citizens of Fayette County? Not you ….
Mr. Horgan, thank you for the time and work as one of our Commissioners. I personally wish you well in your next career endeavors.
The people have spoken, Mr. Oddo, congratulations.
Mr. Frady, thank you for your time and work all these years as one of our Commissioners. I wish you well in your retirement. I believe that the people of Fayette County will come out again, and surprise you when Mr. Barlow and Mr. Ognio get elected. This means that Mr. Barlow will be in your old seat.
To all Fayette County citizens, please remind yourself that voting is a privilege; don’t lose this privilege by listening to disgruntled incumbents and not voting in the runoff because of your apathy. Stay true to good morals guided by faith, and let’s take back our county. Continue to be a responsible voting citizen who stays true to “We the People.” Make plans for the runoff election on August 21, 2012.
