A group of local residents took time out of their schedules recently to attend a ceremony marking Confederate Memorial Day at the gazebo located at the Fayette County government complex in downtown Fayetteville. The day is a state holiday recognizing the anniversary of the end of the Civil War for Georgia in 1865 when Confederate Gen. Joseph E.
