Understanding the stress that accompanies switching from one financial institution to another was top of mind as Delta Community Credit Union created Switch Day, an event that offers a no-hassle and easy solution for those looking to make the change. In fact, 22 percent of bank customers polled in a study by research firm Jupiter admitted that most of them stay with their current bank because switching was too much of a hassle.
Switch Day will be held on Friday Oct. 1, at each of Delta Community’s 20 branches. It offers potential members the chance to work side-by-side with Delta Community specialists to “make the switch” from their present financial institution to Delta Community, similar to the process experienced by Zenkovich. Staff members will be on hand to guide consumers through what has often been a complicated, time consuming effort at financial institutions, and make it hassle-free.
Switch Day also will showcase one of Delta Community’s more popular products, its checking account, by seeding 10 accounts with $1,000 as well as a $10,000 Certificate of Deposit. Anyone who opens a personal or business checking account between Sept. 1, 2010 and Oct. 1, 2010 becomes eligible to win one of the “seeded” accounts. Once a checking account is opened, members can benefit from free online banking, free online deposits and automatic overdraft protection from their savings. A bonus reason to apply is Delta Community’s Visa Check Card, which earns members reward points each time they sign for a purchase. And, just for visiting a Delta Community branch on October 1, consumers will be entered to win one of 10 Apple iPads.
“We have always placed special emphasis on the customer experience and keeping the process of personal finance easy and transparent,” said Rick Foley, president and CEO of Delta Community. “Never is that philosophy more relevant than when a consumer comes to us wanting to make a switch from their current financial institution. Not only do we strive to make it hassle-free, but we want to give them a sense of comfort and confidence that they will have greater peace of mind as a member of Delta Community Credit Union. It is important we set that tone on the day they switch.”
