The quick thinking of Sharryn Moret helped save the life of a young child.

Moret, a special needs bus driver who has been with the school system for 25 years, was driving her bus when she saw an 18-month-old child alone on a Peachtree City cart path. She stopped her bus, and another vehicle, including retired teacher Barbara Perkins, pulled over to assist, too. They called 911, who helped locate the parents. They were frantically searching for their child who had wandered half a mile away from home.

Perkins contacted the Fayette County Schools Transportation Department to applaud Moret’s actions.

“Thanks to Ms. Moret, we saved a kid.”
