Weather Learning Takes Flight at Kedron

A Kedron Elementary class got a hands-on lesson in meteorology and how it helps planes fly safely.

The 1st grade class of Maloree Brooks had been studying weather tools in class and a family connection presented an exciting opportunity. One of the students has a parent who works as a meteorologist for Delta Airlines, and he came in to present to the class. He brought his professional weather tools for the students to explore hands-on and spoke to them about how he uses those tools daily in his job at Delta. The rest of the 1st grade joined in via stream so they could also ask questions.

Brooks hopes the kids loved seeing science come to life.

“I hope the students gained a deeper, real-world understanding of how weather tools work and were inspired seeing how science is applied in real career fields like aviation.”
