After more than 35 years of service, Dr. David Miller will retire from full-time pastoral ministry on Feb. 28. Miller presently serves as lead pastor of Evergreen Church, a Presbyterian congregation affiliated with the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians.

Miller has served five churches during his years of ministry. He first served as a solo pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Elyria, Ohio. He then moved to Seminole, Fla. where he served as associate pastor and interim pastor.

He then became a lead pastor at First Presbyterian church in Rapid City, S.D. and then at First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City.

In March of 2013, Miller retired from the PCUSA denomination and planted a new Presbyterian church in the ECO denomination, now named Evergreen Church.

Over the years, Miller has also participated in many community activities. He enjoys athletics and has coached youth basketball, soccer, baseball and softball. He has also been involved in various music endeavors and ministerial associations.

Miller and his wife Kathy say they look forward to spending more time with their children and grandchildren upon retirement. In March they will be moving to Glenwood Springs, Colo., where they hope to become involved in coaching and mentoring youth.

Evergreen Church will honor Miller at a retirement celebration on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 4 p.m. with a reception immediately following. Friends from the community are invited to attend.

Those who would like to attend, are asked to R.S.V.P. to Evergreen Church, 678-788-7374.
