4 PTC Walmart employees charged with theft

Four employees of Peachtree City’s Walmart store were indicted June 18 for stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise and groceries from the company.

The biggest tab was racked up by Melissa Reeves, 23, of Cardinal Road, Jonesboro who is accused of gaining $6,959 in the scam, according to the indictment.
Juanita Tripp, 46, of Peachtree Station Circle, Peachtree City, is accused of netting more than $3,600 in the scam, according to court records. Also indicted in the case were Lasunya Renae Beckham, 34, of Plantation Trail, Griffin and Ashley Houston, 22, of Liberty Heights, Jonesboro.

Beckham is charged with gaining more than $2,100 in merchandise and groceries while Houston’s tab was estimated at more than $1,500, according to the indictment.

The incidents occurred in late 2009, according to the indictments.

All four were charged with various counts. Reeves is charged with 16 counts of theft by taking while acting in a fiduciary capacity. Reeves was charged with 16 different such counts while Tripp was indicted on seven counts, Beckham was indicted on five counts and Houston was charged with four counts.

The case was investigated by the Peachtree City Police Department.
