International speaker and Georgia Book of the Year-nominated author Sharyn Shields will host a one-of-a-kind children’s event Saturday, June 20, at 10 a.m. at the Serenbe Farmers Market.

A select group of child actors will perform scenes from Shields’ nominated book, “The Wisdom of Dr. Soles.” This unique dramatic presentation will teach children and young teens how to find their own strengths and how to respect the diverse gifts and talents of others.

Shields is a popular speaker at Atlanta-area schools and children’s groups. She uses warmth and humor to teach kids to resist peer pressure and prevent bullying.

Katrina D. Wilson, head counselor at Pine Street Elementary in Conyers, has glowing praise for Ms. Shields:

“Ms. Shields is a delight to all audiences and encompasses both humor and passion in her presentations,” said Katrina Wilson, head counselof at Pine Street Elementary in Conyers. “Her message carried a very timely delivery. She echoed the important themes of helping people understanding that their unique gifts and talents are needed to contribute to their overall success of their families, schools and communities.”

A book signing and discussion will follow the dramatic performance.

The Serenbe market will also feature vendors with organic food and crafts fresh from Georgia’s newest agritopia.
