Three teenagers were arrested early Saturday night after a citizen told police she saw them attempt to steal a golf cart parked in the Wisdom Woods apartment complex, police said.
The three were found on another stolen golf cart and also previously attempted to steal a third cart, police said.
When a police officer first spotted the three teens in the stolen golf cart, they fled on foot onto the property of Dolce-Peachtree conference center where they were later discovered and placed under arrest.
Arrested were Lamar Walton, 17, of West Manor, Peachtree City and Joshua P. Mobley, 18, of an unknown address in Peachtree City and an unnamed juvenile.
The three were unsuccessful in stealing the two golf carts because one was chained down and the other had an ignition that was modified to take a non-standard key, police said.
Walton was charged with three counts of entering an auto, two counts of obstruction of a police officer, two counts of criminal trespassing, two counts of criminal attempt to commit theft by taking and one count each of loitering, theft by taking and identity fraud; the latter charge was due to his possession of a debit card in someone else’s name, police said.
Mobley and the juvenile were both charged with three counts of entering an auto, two counts of obstruction of a police officer, two counts of criminal trespassing, two counts of criminal attempt to commit theft by taking and one count each of loitering and theft by taking.
