Flat Rock AME will celebrate anniversary

Flat Rock African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church will celebrate its 158th anniversary with a special service at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12. Flat Rock AME Church is the oldest African-American church in Fayette County.

The senior pastor at Flat Rock is the Rev. Ed Johnson. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Larry Hudson of St Mark AME Church in Atlanta.

Flat Rock is located between Peachtree City and Fayetteville at 148 Old Chapel Lane, just off Ga. Highway 54. Flat Rock is a leadership church in the Fellowship of Christian Churches and Friends (FCCF) which exists to promote unity among area churches.
