McIntosh High’s The Legend yearbook was a big victor at the Georgia Scholastic Press Association’s awards ceremony, including winning 1st place for Medium School Yearbook.
Volume 44 of The Legend Yearbook, “No Matter What Happens, We’re Here For It,” was the highest-scoring medium-sized yearbook in the state. Along with the 1st place award for the whole book, they also earned an All-Georgia rating for their cover. The staff brought home 7 All-Georgia awards and 10 Superior ratings for their reporting, photography, and graphic design.
The staff won seven All-Georgia Awards: Ava Flores, Camilla O’Connell, Caroline Franklin, Noa Amos, and Brooks White for Cover Design; Ruthi Bosserdet, Alyson Garduno and Lauren Kelly for Social Justice Reporting; Archana Nadarajan, Molly Bennett and Jazlenne Martinez-Morales for Health Reporting; Molly Bennett, Jazlenne Martinez-Morales and Archana Nadarajan for Information Graphics; Jozlynn Smith for Environmental Reporting; Alyssa Barnfield for Advertising Design; and Alyssa Barnfield for Social Media Breaking News.
They also earned 10 Superior ratings: Ava Flores, Camilla O’Connell, Caroline Franklin, Noa Amos, River Boyle and Chelby Gambrel for Theme Design; Ruthi Bosserdet, Emma Spyak, Lauren Kelly, Noa Amos and Brooks White for Spread Design; Ruthi Bosserdet, Emma Spyak and Lauren Kelly for Health Reporting; Molly Bennett and Jazlenne Martinez-Morales for Social Justice Story; Reagan Sangster and Trinity Patel for Environmental Reporting; Reagan Sangster and Trinity Patel for Special Interest Story; Jazlenne Martinez-Morales for Yearbook Story; Maria Moon for Feature Photography; Alyson Garduno for Information Graphic; and Alyson Garduno for Special Interest Story.
