The Citizen is proud to feature exceptional student-athletes from across our community each week. Whether they’re leading their teams to victory, showing strong character on and off the field, or making steady progress in their sport, these athletes represent the very best of local youth. We celebrate their hard work, dedication, and leadership in schools, leagues, and clubs throughout Fayette and Coweta counties.

This week, we’re proud to feature these athletes:

East Coweta High School

Addison Joiner
Softball

Addie is a Senior catcher and is committed to playing softball at Jacksonville University! Addie is an excellent student and is a leader on and off the field for the Lady Indians.

Fayette County High School

Gabrielle Pennington
Cheerleading

Gabby has been a dedicated member of the cheerleading team at FCHS since her freshman year and continues to show outstanding commitment and spirit. Beyond the sidelines, she excels academically, taking several AP classes while balancing her leadership roles as Junior Class President and an active member of HOSA and FBLA. Gabby’s drive, school spirit, and ability to lead both in and out of the classroom makes her a model student-athlete and an inspiration to her peers.

McIntosh High School

Madeline Kuehn
Cheerleading

“Mady leads our team with dedication, coming prepared to practice daily to assist her teammates. She leads by example in all areas, and is a fabulous performer!” – Coach Carmen Yarbrough

Starr’s Mill High School

Roxy Morin
Cheerleading

Roxy Morin is a hardworking and dedicated cheerleader who leads by example. Her strong work ethic, powerful tumbling and determination make her an essential part of the squad’s success.

Trinity Christian School

Makenzie Knowles
Softball

Makenzie is a catcher on our team but plays every position on the field and can play them well. A good athlete and very smart on the field. She has not made an error behind the plate and has a .405 batting average and gets on base every two at bats. She is a competitor on the field, leads by example and is a great teammate.

Whitewater High School

Jaelyn Stanley
Flag Football

Jaelyn Stanley put together an incredible all-around performance this week, leading her team to two big wins. She showcased her versatility with 3 passing touchdowns, 2 rushing touchdowns, and 8 extra points through the air, while also racking up 251 passing yards and 57 rushing yards. On the defensive side, she made her presence known with 2 passes defended. Jaelyn’s leadership and playmaking ability were key to the team’s success, making her a well-deserving choice for Player of the Week.
