School libraries promote summer reading

Vacation is a great time to pick up a new book, and special summer events at Fayette County Public Schools libraries ensured that students were ready to read. 

Media specialist Kenny Blum hosted several open library sessions at Oak Grove Elementary. Library nights featured a host of a special guests like new teachers, new Assistant Principal Michelle Shaw, and even a CAREing Paws reading dog. 

It wasn’t just Oak Grove getting kids reading over the break. Media specialists Patricia Hipps at Braelinn Elementary and Tracy Larson at Inman Elementary also hosted summer library hours.
