Tyrone, GA – Tyrone Public Works employees and emergency contractor crews are working to contain a sewer spill that was reported to the Town at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025 in a wooded area behind residences on Park Haven Lane. 

The cause of the spill is currently unknown and environmental personnel will begin the process of assessing the estimated size of the spill as soon as possible. The Georgia EPD has been notified of the spill per the Town’s response protocol. 

The Town is in the process of posting public notification signage in the spill site vicinity and warns residents to avoid the spill site and keep their pets away from the area until signage is removed. This spill does not affect drinking water.
