Jewell Grace Walker Gable, 94, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away April 6, 2025. She was born on January 7, 1931, in Fayetteville Georgia to the late O’Dell Walker and Mary Lou Walker.

Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Gable and her granddaughter and namesake, Maggie Grace Ann Bryson, her daughter-in-law, Karen Gable and her brothers Gene Walker, Joe Walker and Don Walker.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Mike (Sue Ellen) Gable, Tony (Judy) Gable, Joey (Serena) Gable, Mark Gable; and her daughter, Mary Gable (Michael) Bryson. Jewell had ten grandchildren, Michael Gable, Paul Gable, Drew Gable, Ashley Gable, Leslie Gable, Chris Gable, Stephenie Jordan, Kellie Anderson, Sean Gable, and Jacob Bryson. She also leaves 14 great grandchildren: Ellen Kay, William, James, Dylan, Ansley, Caden, Hudson, Parker, Katie, Jaxson, Addie, McKenzie, Ethan, and Reid. She is also survived by her brother, Barney (Sue) Walker, her sister, Carol Erchak and a large extended family.

Mom was a life-long member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mom was a member of the homebound committee and loved visiting church members who were not able to attend church. Mom graduated from Fayette County High School, Class of 1949. While there she played basketball. Mom enjoyed gardening and especially loved her daylilies, daffodils, azaleas, and her gingko trees. She enjoyed going to events her grandchildren participated in over the years. Mom woke up every day and found a way to help someone. She loved sending cards, especially to her grandkids, with a dollar for each year. Jewell was known to be an excellent cook and was often making food for friends and family.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Azalea Estates in Fayetteville as well as Southern Grace Hospice. Both of these organizations took excellent care of our mom over the past 9 months and are so thankful for their care and love they gave to her.

The Funeral service will Friday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Fayetteville Frist Baptist Church’s Overton Chapel. Followed by burial at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville, with Reverend Jack Miller officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 17 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Those wishing to honor Jewell Gable may send flowers or consider a donation to any of these organization: Habitat for Humanity, the Carter Center, or Donate Life.
