A Collaborative Approach to Prevention
Through this partnership, Fayette County Schools and Drug Free Fayette are enhancing traditional driver education by integrating hands-on, immersive experiences that make safety messages more impactful and lasting.
The Arrive Alive Tour® features a cutting-edge driving simulator that allows students to experience the real-life consequences of impaired and distracted driving in a safe and controlled environment. This interactive approach helps young drivers recognize how quickly impairment—whether from alcohol, drugs, or distractions like texting—can lead to life-threatening outcomes.
Why This Matters
- Traffic fatalities rose 10.9% nationwide in 2021, with teen drivers facing a fatal crash rate three times higher than drivers aged 20 and over.
- More than 58% of teen crashes are caused by distracted driving, making it a leading factor in preventable accidents.
- Collaborative programs like this bridge the gap between education and real-world decision-making, reinforcing the importance of making safe, responsible choices behind the wheel.
By strengthening collaboration between schools, community organizations, and prevention initiatives like Drug Free Fayette, we are creating a safer, healthier future for our youth.
