The Rotary Club of Peachtree City, alongside volunteers from the Tyrone and Fayetteville Rotary Clubs, made a life-changing impact today by building 36 beds in under two hours for local children in need.

This service project was in partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that no child sleeps on the floor. Despite having delivered over 260,000 beds nationwide, the demand is still overwhelming—with over 1 million applications submitted and 200 children locally still waiting for a bed.

“The need is real, and our club knew we had to step up,” said Amy Benton, Immediate Past President of the Peachtree City Rotary Club. “A bed provides more than just comfort—it gives a child security, dignity, and the chance to dream.”

The Reality of Bed Insecurity

📌 62.4% of requests come from single-parent households
📌 6.1% are from families transitioning from homelessness
📌 1.35% are foster families working to provide stability
📌 82.4% of applicants earn less than $52,000 annually

With over 45 Rotarians and 20 community volunteers, today’s event was not only a financial commitment from the Peachtree City Rotary Club, but also a hands-on effort to give back.
