Jo Ellen Bauer, 79, of Peachtree City, Georgia, passed away on August 20, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 13, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Joseph and Ruth Terrill.
Jo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, but her most cherished role in life was mother and grandmother.
She loved the beach, sailing and spending time with her family and friends. Her love of the water is deeply ingrained with each of her children and grandchildren, and she never missed an opportunity to share that with her family.
She had an enormous heart and an even larger love of life. Her laugh was contagious and will never be forgotten. She was their rock, their role model, their best friend.
Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ruth, and her sister, Carolyn. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Al; her daughter, Lynn and her husband, Chris; her son, Brian and his wife, Barbie. She was blessed to have 12 grandchildren who called her “Emaw”… Christiana (31), Ashton (30), Abbey (24), Valen (24), Jack (23), Ronnie (23), Ethan (22), Chay (21), Maggie (21), Sammie (15), Avany (15), and Grant (15) and one great-grandchild, Remi (6 months).
The family requests memorial contributions be sent in lieu of flowers to the Lewy Body Dementia Foundation (www.lbda.org/donate/) or to Hilarity for Charity (https://www.wearehfc.org/).
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City.
