Flat Rock Middle School wins Georgia Tray of the Week

The school nutrition staff at Flat Rock Middle always cooks up nutritious and delicious meals. They were recently honored for an extra awesome lunch by winning the Georgia School Nutrition Program’s Tray of the Week competition.

Featuring oven fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, cornbread, banana pudding, and watermelon, the tray was served up by school nutrition manager Deva Burke and Bettie Redden, Ruby Jacks, Vernell Reese, Claudia Martinez, and Tammy Julian.

Flat Rock’s dish was crowned the winner by garnering the most likes on the Georgia School Nutrition Program’s Facebook page. It beat out trays from Dooly County, Heard County, Newton County, Whitfield County, and Atlanta Public Schools to win the award.
