A graveside service for Randy Erie Matthews was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2023 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele with Rev. J.T. Smith officiating. The family met with friends prior to the service at Rainey Family Funeral Services.
Randy, 73, passed away in Griffin on December 31, 2023 at Brightmoor Hospice.
He was born in Camden, South Carolina and was the son of the late Jacob Erie Matthews and Claudia Roberts Matthews.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Woodard Matthews; his daughter, Mandy Ratliff (Shane); and his grandson, Sawyer Ratliff, all of Fayetteville.
Randy was an avid golfer, and enjoyed the game thoroughly. He liked working with his hands and this led to his love of woodworking. He was of the Baptist faith. Randy adored his family. He loved his grandson, Sawyer, and spending time with him was a true treasure and delight.
