Tyrone City Council candidate Jessica Whelan gets endorsement from Council member Linda Howard

Jessica Whelan’s campaign has received a major endorsement from retiring City Council member Linda Howard, according to Whelan in a news release.

“Linda’s endorsement is important because it is based on a lifelong knowledge and love of Tyrone” Whelan said. “She spent approximately 20 years on the Town Council working to preserve and improve the town she loves. Her endorsement assures the citizens of Tyrone that Jessica is the person to take up this important work.”

“After deciding not to seek re-election this year, the next decision was to find a candidate I could support for that position,” Howard said. “Jessica Whelan’s name was mentioned to me. We met and spent hours learning about each other and sharing our love for Tyrone. It didn’t take long to realize she was the perfect fit. She is a Christian, a conservative and cares deeply for Tyrone. Her involvement and knowledge of the governing of Fayette County and the local municipalities impressed me. She is thorough in researching and investigating topics.

“She’s not afraid to tackle tough issues and will represent the citizens who are standing strong against too much change and outside interference,” Howard continued. “Everyone loves Tyrone because of our country-charm and family values. She loves that, too. She has all the qualities and abilities needed to work well with the mayor, council and staff to continue doing what is best for Tyrone’s future. I encourage you to support and vote for Jessica Whelan.”

“Linda Howard is truly a woman of substance, and my goal is to be worthy of her endorsement by promoting responsible growth and spending, backing our Police Department; assuring public safety, and working with Town Staff to grow, beautify and preserve our charming town for generations to come,” Whelan said. “Learn more about my positions on Facebook @jessica4Tyrone.”
