In the middle of the recent heat wave, Access students at Fayette County High made the most of a sunny day with an experiment combining science and art.

Every day the students go over the weather and answer questions about what the weather is going to be like. When the class got a look at the incoming sunny forecast, teacher Jennifer Ross led the Tigers through sticking crayons to a canvas to see if it was hot enough to melt them.

The result was a rainbow of running colors the class loved, said Ross.

“The kids were super excited to see how they did and are very fascinated with the process.”
