Wildcats compete at DECA state conference

Whitewater High was well-represented at the 2023 DECA State Career Development Conference. Over 3,000 students attended the conference, and 17 Whitewater students finished in the top 7 in their events and will move on to international competition in April.

Students who qualified for the international competition are Catherine Ling (Financial Consulting), Kellan Frenelle (Marketing Communications), Sarah Nell Harp (Professional Selling), Zaire Brown (Principles of Hospitality & Tourism), Garrison Rider (Hospitality & Tourism Professional Selling), Eva Watson (Quick Serve Restaurant Management), Owen Quick (Professional Selling), Zac Golubeff (Personal Financial Literacy), Avery Morr and Lizzie Holt (Integrated Marketing Campaign), Shawn Sower and Conner Kolisnyk (Sports & Entertainment Marketing), Hailey Casey and Eva Chance (Startup Business Plan), and Sonja Sutcavage, Emma Anderson, and Julia Geise (Integrated Marketing Campaign).

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. As an integral part of the classroom curriculum, DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards, and directly contribute to every student being college and career ready when they graduate from high school.
