Thomas George McCormick (Tom), 85, died on January 4th, 2023, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.
He was born September 6th, 1937, in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Thomas A. and Dona M. McCormick. Tom joined the U.S. Army in 1954 where he served in both Korea and Vietnam. He married the love of his life, Lynne E. Porter, on August 19th, 1958. After the Army, Tom pursued a lifelong career in law enforcement.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lynne, on August 6th, 2019. Surviving are his sons, Mark McCormick, and his wife Linda, of Carrollton, GA; David McCormick and his wife Anne, of Fredonia, NY; his brothers Michael McCormick and his wife Sandra of Indianapolis, IN; Joe McCormick and his wife Gwen of Indianapolis, IN; and his grandchildren Heather M. Ford, David McCormick Jr., Caitlin M. Puckett, Nicholas McCormick, and Patrick McCormick.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14th at All Saints Anglican Church, 149 Ebenezer Rd., Fayetteville, GA. Those who wish to remember Tom in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Tanner Medical Foundation, 109 College Street, Carrollton, GA 30117.
