The Fayette County NAACP presents “Stand Up For Justice,” the 2018 Freedom Fund Banquet, to be held at Hanna Brothers Restaurant located at Pinewood Studios in Fayetteville. The banquet will be held on Sunday, Nov. 11.

This event will reflect upon the 50th commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination and honor the men and women who sacrifice daily for American freedom and the freedom of others around the world.

Guest speaker for the event is Mrs. Xernona Clayton, a well-known civil rights activist and broadcasting executive. She was the first African-American woman from the southern United States to host a prime time talk show, The Xernona Clayton Show, a corporate vice president with Turner Broadcasting, creator of the Trumpet Awards Foundation and author of her autobiography “I’ve Been Marching All The Time.”

She will be joined on stage by the host of the event, radio personality/writer Ms. Myra J., who was featured on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.
