It is with great sadness that the children of Kenneth D. Atha (Kenny) announce his passing after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at the age of 67 years.
A teacher, father, mentor, and craftsmen, Kenny spent his early life as an electrical contractor and his later life as a vocational teacher and school administrator with Henry County Public Schools. Kenny attended the University of Texas (BS), Georgia State University (M.Edu), University of Georgia (M.Edu), and University of West Georgia (Ed.S). He was cherished by many students, leaving a legacy of strong, able-bodied men and women with the skills to be successful in career and life.
Friends of Kenny will tell you that it was not his career but his children, Jason (Hayley) and Robin, that were his pride and joy. He was a devoted father who gave his all to see Jason and Robin grow up to be successful.
Kenny is predeceased by his parents Quincy and Mildred, and his wife Vicky.
Kenny is survived by his children, siblings Carol, Kathy, and Errol, nieces, extended family, and dear friends.
A visitation will occur on Thursday, May 31 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home and Crematory, 135 Senoia Rd, Peachtree City, Ga. 30269. All friends and family are welcome to drop by and celebrate the life of Kenny.
