Wortham Anniversary

Joe and Fairy Wortham of Peachtree City will celebrate their 50th (golden) anniversary July 1.

They both graduated from Heard County High School and were married on July 1, 1967, at Franklin Baptist Church in Franklin. They lived on various military posts while Joe served in the United States Army and lived in Carrollton while Joe attended the University of West Georgia.

In 1974, the Worthams moved to Peachtree City with their daughter, Amy, and son, Joseph. They owned a landscaping and nursery in the Peachtree City area for several years. Fairy managed the Company Store located in the Atlanta Merchandise Mart and later was licensed in insurance and investments for many years.

Joe is now retired from working with the Boy Scouts of America, and Fairy is an online business owner of Fly Your Faith Gallery, Inc. which specializes in Christian message art banners and flags and patriotic items. While enjoying semi-retirement, Joe drives a school bus for the local board of education and both are active in the community.

The Worthams will celebrate their anniversary on a cruise in late June and early July.  They celebrated in the mountains of Tennessee in early June with their daughter, Amy (Kevin) Moore, Joseph (Chris) Wortham, and their six grandchildren:  J.T., Micah, and Hope Wortham; and Reagan, Keagan, and Karis Moore.
