The New Neighbor League Club held its January monthly meeting at Flat Creek Country Club in Peachtree City. Leslie Brookman was chosen as the 2016 New Neighbor of the Year.
She lived in 11 states before moving to Peachtree City. She joined NNLC in March of 2015 and has been very active – serving as chairs of Scrapbook, Tours, Socials, and is currently the cub president. She assisted with their Fourth of July Parade entry, served as a proofreader for the newsletter, and helped organize the annual Golf Cart Rally.
She is married to Mike and they have two sons, Findlay, age 12 and Spencer, age 16.
In addition to NNLC activities, Leslie has volunteered at Braelin Elementary Arts Program and at Rising Starr Middle School in the classroom and with popcorn sales. At Starr’s Mill, she volunteers weekly in the Media Center. Leslie has donated her time to FARA (Friedrich’s Ataxia Research Alliance) Ride Ataxia fundraiser and at the Midwest Food Bank.
NNLC’s purpose is to bring newcomers to the area together so that they may meet and become friends while adjusting to new surroundings. It is a not-for-profit social organization that has a wide variety of activities. If you live in the Fayette-Coweta county area and would like more information about joining NNLC, contact Club Director Carol Jensen-Linton at 770-486-9116 or visit www.newneighborsptc.com.
