The Heritage Community Foundation recently presented a $5,000 grant to April LaLand-Sentmanat, chief executive officer of Woman-2-Woman & Associates, Inc.

The funds will be used by W2WA to purchase computers and related equipment. The list of items to be bought includes five Dell Inspiron notebook computers, three HP Laserjet printers, one HP all-in-one printer, ink cartridges, keyboards, and other computer supplies.

The new computers will allow W2WA to continue developing and expanding the curriculum of workshops and training offered to clients, with the immediate focus of training on financial education and management, career workforce development, homeownership and college preparedness.

W2WA is a faith-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that was created for the advancement of all women, particularly those in crisis and transition from domestic violence, incarceration, substance abuse and homelessness in south metro Atlanta. W2WA specifically focuses on assisting and empowering women economically, spiritually, mentally and physically. Many women who benefit from the assistance provided by W2WA are homeless veterans, ex-victims of domestic violence, and those in the process of rehabilitation. W2WA offers several sources of support at the Riverdale Center. It’s ultimate goal is to offer a one-stop shop of programs geared toward every woman becoming financially independent and a viable contributor to her community.
