A north Fayette County woman was arrested on aggravated assault charges stemming from a dispute with a relative that resulted in a stab wound.
Crystal D. Turner, 29, was charged with aggravated assault and felony family violence, according to Fayette County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Renee McCollum.
McCollum said Turner assaulted a 52-year-old female relative with a knife on April 4 during an argument over groceries at their Rivers Road residence.
“During the argument the offender is alleged to have thrown a knife at the victim in frustration which struck the victim in her hand, nearly piercing her hand throughout,” McCollum said.
McCollum said both Turner and the victim left the home after 911 was called. The victim was later contacted and provided information that led to the arrest, McCollum said.
McCollum said the victim was transported to Piedmont Fayette Hospital for treatment.
