Antiques are like open books, but only if you know how to read them.
Certified appraiser Valerie Hale will provide two hours of learning, including an informal verbal evaluation of pre-selected items, for program attendees Saturday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Peachtree City Library. Topics to be discussed include the ins and outs of a formal appraisal, how to research items, and a comparison of different types of antiques via PowerPoint slideshow.
Come and share this unique adult “storytime” as our local appraiser shares her knowledge of the who, what, when, why, and where of family treasures.
Valerie Vale, ISA CAPP, is a certified member of the International Society of Appraisers. She has provided written appraisals for antiques, residential contents, and fine art for 13 years. Hale grew up in Savannah, breathing Southern history and learning the story of antiques. She currently provides appraisals for insurance, charitable donation, divorce, and estates. In addition, she instructs other appraisers in the field and consults with clients helping them learn the stories of their unique treasures.
The program is free and open to the public.
